About Atelier D'or
Beginning as a retail and jewellery workshop based in Brighton, Victoria, Atelier D'or has gained a reputation for impeccable workmanship and personalised service. When stepping through the Antique French Doors, clients were welcomed into a business based on tradition and good old fashioned service.
As times change and families grow, Atelier D'or has moved to the Sunshine Coast and downsized to a jewellery workshop that still retains the foundations that the business was proudly built on.
Megan Long - Director and Jeweller
Megan started with Atelier D'or in June 1997, learning everything she could, both on the bench and in the retail space, while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts - Gold and Silversmithing. Steadily building relationships with clients and growing reputation for her attention to detail, Megan went on to purchase the business in 2002 with a business partner/colleague. As a duo, they continued the business, growing it into a well respected establishment, servicing clients both locally, interstate and overseas.
In 2013 with a change in family circumstances and future interests, the retail shop in Brighton closed its doors and the workshop became the main focus. 2014 saw the business partner step away and Megan taking the reins of Atelier D'or.
Now with 20 years experience under her belt, Megan is re-establishing Atelier D'or on the Sunshine Coast as both a retail workshop, offering personalized service, and as a wholesale workshop for the jewellery trade.
As always, it is to you!
What we learnt at the start is what we still hold onto strongly and that is 'the client is the most important person, and they come first.'
We strive to supply and make pieces to exactly what is asked for. If this means showing a client every step of the jewellery progress, we will do this and more. We pay attention to the little details to make sure that the finished piece brings absolute joy to the wearer. We want the jewellery to live on, bringing happiness to many generations to come.
